If someone leaves a comment on your profile, where do you post your reply?

Is it okay to reply on your own profile, or is it better to post a reply on theirs, if possible?

It's just something I've been always unsure about. Both options seem weird to me.

Either or. I reply on my own. Most sub to your comment section if they posted there.

unrelated question: if i see someone offline on my 'invitations sent' list, but they're online when i hover over their avatar or visit their profile page, does this mean they've blocked me?

Or Steam is just been Steam or not updated
I am not even sure the invitation list shows the online status

Besides that, if someone comments on your profile, they will get the next time you post something on it, so overall I prefer to try to reply on my own profile so they will not get a notification maybe mouths later when I reply to someone else on my profile
Found it out when I get a notification on a reply from profile owners sometimes ages after I comment there asking why they added me

you probably meant you try to reply on their profile

also, i just unsubscribe when i get unrelated comment notification about someone else's profile. it was me who subscribed initially, so there's not much to be annoyed about

got another question. if i'm in chat with someone, they unfriend me and 'go offline' (it still says online on their profile), but i leave one or two messages after that, are they notified about them?

I did not sub their comments, or anything like that when you comment something sub or not, you will get notified of the next time they reply

Overall yes if they are offline they are suppose to get your message, but if for whatever reason Steam thinks they all ready got the message (lets say they got it on there phone) then it will not send it also to the PC when they login
And sometimes it will show as "Unread messages" and when opening the messages will just not be there

So overall you better trying to contact them when they're online, as the offline message is not something that you can completely trust sadly to get to the other side

i was thinking the reason they wouldn't get the messages is because they unfriended me, not because they went offline (which they didn't, it only showed they're offline to me)

Why would it ever not be okay to post on your own profile? They come to you to ask something and you are free to reply or not.

They will get a notification on the next post after theirs. So they can check back when you've replied to them.

i didn't know users get notified of the next post unless they choose to subscribe. so the awkward part for me was that they have to subscribe to my comment section or keep checking back on it to see when i reply (hmm, somehow it seems alright when i do that though)

Made a comment with my test account so you can see you get no notification for it, going to comment in 5 minutes my self so you get notified

you were right, i didn't get notified about the test comment, but got the notification for yours (while not being subscribed)

it's convenient not to have to subscribe/unsubscribe to someone's profile just for a single reply. will keep that in mind

I have Question? I've always wondered if for example, A person who comments on my screenshots who was my friend when they commented on my post unfriend me then I reply to their previous comment after they've unfriended me will they be able to see it? or get notified of the reply I made?

If they commented on your profile/art and are your friend they will get a notification if you post there later. However, once they unfriend they no longer do.

no i'm pretty sure you always get notified for the next comment that the author posts after yours
