However, that is just a rumor.
But it is illegal to search those words in china and they have a filter.
If you Google "tiananmen square" you'll understand.
Stop posting political junk and you won't be punished.
Why would you be talking about real life serious issues over a CS:GO match?
That's not the right place for that kinda talk.
It is political nonsense and you were rightfully muted.
But if the server admins don't want their CS server to be political chat they have that right. Your imagined rights don't supersede their actual rights.
and if more then one person writes the same thing that is not content relevant it can also be simply considered as spam.
1st Amendment does not apply on Steam.
There is no "freedom of speech" on a private platform.
A common misconception with "freedom of speech" is that everyone has to tolerate your BS anywhere you want to subject them to it. It's a hope that your rights supersede everyone else's rights.
That said, clearly we need a place where we can escape from Politics, and Game Forums ought to be such a place. Therefore, banning or muting Political Speech is perfectly justified, even if or when the person pushing the "ban button" might happen to agree with the speech being banned.
Or at least if the moderator is fair, s/he's not muting someone simply because s/he disagrees.
It's not a matter of whether anybody agrees. It's a matter of things that tend to get people angry and agitated and have heated arguments that are irrelevant to the forum topic, which is, The Games. We shouldn't have that kind of stuff on a Games Forum.
There are plenty of places where you can go and everyone is happily talking about all manners of Political stuff, Left, Right, Up, Down and Inside-Out. Take it there.
Politics isn't an appropriate thing to discuss over a friendly match of CS:GO. Nor to discuss on Steam at all.
And just because you have the right to it you don't have the right to speak about it in a place where no-one wants to hear it. So it's no surprise you get some sort of punishment if you push it too far.
Each topic of conversation can have its own importance. Just know where to talk about it.
Now please let this thread die.

Uh oh, is this a "huge argument thread"??
