Battle royale games where you can host private servers

I'm not a big fan of battle royale games. Probably because I suck and get my ♥♥♥ handed to me every time I enter a match (yeah, I admit it). But I have a bunch of friends that dislike the genre for that excact same reason. I think we would enjoy very much to beat on each other on our own privately hosted server.

Therefore I was wondering, because I know little of the hundreds of games in the genre, what games support hosting privately? And which of those games are most suitable for 4 to 16 players?

As of now we've had some private fun with Darwin Project.

I'm not aware of any Battle Royale game that offers such an option as that is quite the opposite of what such games are trying to achieve.

You could probably concoct something on Arma 3 as private servers on there are heavily customisable and that's the game where BR was born.
