And yes, the inability to cheat in a fully online environment is going to be a powerful draw. Even with the latency issues.
I think the difference is stadia just wants to host the games maybe make one or two.
And create a streaming platform that everyone is able to join at fair conditions I mean even EA & Rockstar are on it.
As Devs, they should acknowledge the existence of the new "Cloud Platform" that's all I'm saying.
They should not miss this chance.
Steam Link will take longer to get to where stadia is atm and I don't want to wait 3 years to get that service that I actually want.
The only thing they need to do consumer side is to update the hardware/app to accept a stream from the cloud. Don't know how far they are on the server side, and how big of a cut or partnership Akamai is demanding.
And they just don't want to.
A service that under performed for over a decade before Sony bought the patents and invested their billions for the PSNow network. Yeah... My point stands.
Until most countries can provide enough cheap bandwidth for their customers, I don't see Valve caring. There are just far too many users on either slow or limited data connections.
The price of an internet connection wont stop no one who is willing to pay for a new GPU.
What it depends on is the coverage/accessibility to a fast internet connection.
And that is achieved in mostly all US and West EU states.
In the Eu, you even have a commission for it that over see it:

And even in comparison to the other parts of the world...
They are all not lacking much behind.

For most gamers, I know an internet connection for 20-40€ should be no problem.
Since in the long run, you won't need to upgrade you pc anymore
For example, I just wanted to get a new rig... I would have spent the usual 1700€ every 3 years.
Stadia
My base internet cost 20€ per month get 200Mbit/s
20€ X12=240€
stadia 9.99€ per month X12=119,88
359,88 per year X 3 =1.079,64
PC
1700€ every 3 years
20€ X12=240€ x3 = 720€
25€ electricity per month for PC x 12 = 300€ X3 =900€
Is 3.320€
Well anyway i do the math it is cheaper.
I want nothing to do with "streaming" games, ever. Go to Alphabet.
Hmm, I don't know what to say.
Still, I think some people want a cheater free gaming environment...
And if It cheaper has no cheaters and that makes it the perfect spot for Ranking matches on a competitive lv.
Even If you sir are ok with playing in an unsafe environment the option for gamers who have a need to
Play Fair (no cheating works) / (test their skill on even ground) / (Ranking possibilities for online Tournaments) should exsist.
Hmm... what could you have against fair play?
game streaming is not suitable for competitive games. if someone thinks this is a good idea, they are not anywhere near competitive players.
and if you think, this will nullify cheating ...
it wont
Cloud-based ones since they are easier to get a hold of and way cheaper than any optical sensor cheat.
But it's obvious that things can be done to reduce the cheater amount maybe not on Pc.
But for cloud-based services for sure.
The only thing I can read out of the comments that you would not even try to reduce the amount.
I'm only asking for a chance...
I think the slightest possibility to get games on a platform close to a Pc
but without the whole Pc, cheater amount makes it worth it.
When Apex is on Stadia and it works ill come back and ask again.
They all suffer from slow speeds.
