Turn off the Steam Guard email thing
I understand for security and 2FA, its nice to have that if you logon to the forums, it sends you a email, but its annoying. Some of us dont care.

Where is the option to turn it off so you just enter username and password and done?

being careless, ignorant, usually results into regretting later on. turn it off and you put yourself into great danger. if you really care about your account, that is.
Wrong use of the word ignorant there Truxton. I would have substituted it for "nonchalant" instead :P

Settings -> Account -> Manage Steam Guard Security -> Turn Steam Guard off

Doing so will restrict your account to the most basic functions, though. Which IIRC excludes any sort of community interaction. Re-activating the security will leave you with a 15 day trading and market cooldown.

Anyway, it should only send you an eMail on a new device/browser. If this is a regular thing, keep the Steam cookies from being deleted.

Complacent

I think that would be the word for it. Defeating security features really is like playing with fire. Eventually, you will get burned. Yeah, yeah, it's inconvenient, annoying, and taxing at times, but well worth the aggravation.

I know this is old news, but for automated testing of the third party login feature it is essential that 2FA not be enabled. I have a separate dummy account to test features on my site Steamed Apples[www.steamedapples.com] and I need 2FA to be off for that. So there are valid reasons to want to be able to disable it.

I want to turn this off too. It's utterly ridiculous. So, every damn time I want to write on this forum, I have to go through the whole email password retrieval charade thing?!?! I don't have to do this on any other service on the Internet. This reminds me of why I don't come on the Steam forum much.
I think this is an excellent idea. Anyone who opts out will automatically be excluded from support with account security questions. Deal? Deal!

Ha, ha, so funny. But, one does not have to be aided by fool-proof security measures when they are already not a fool. If they don’t themselves enter their password on a scam website, a keylogger may still steal their password, but guess what — it will steal their email password the same munite. And the recovery email could be much safer if they didn’t have to always type its password directly after Steam’s. (Who erases Steam’s forum cookie every time, surely does so with email.)

I mean if you constantly logout... then sure. Otherwise, no?

I mean what are you doing?

Then that's a YOU problem. Because there's no reason for you to keep logging in.

Why don't you have things set up to save these cookies? Or do you have some settings on your browsers or security that regularly erases cookies and such?

Because I can't remember the last time I ever entered my details.

What you need to do is to generate backups codes here https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

... and use those.

You could use the forums on your phone. It's trivial to log in to the forums on your phone. Your geek life is in Steam. It's valuable and you don't want to jeopardize it.
