Borderless Window VS Full Screen
I know this topic probably exists but I haven't found a satisfactory answer anywhere.
My question is why do my games run faster in Borderless Window than Full Screen.
For example Dying Light ran so much smoother in Borderless and recently Resident Evil 7 went from 24 FPS Full Screen to 60 FPS in Borderless. What gives?
My specs are :
AMD Phenom 8-core processor
16 GB RAM
3.5 GHz
1 Terabyte Hard drive
Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti.

I actually get better perfomance in fullscreen
:Teddy_talk: I couldn't really tell the difference between the two.
I usually run most of my PC games at full screen (nearly all of my PC games support this)

On occasions I'll use the Windows 10 Xbone app and run that windowed, usually if I'm doing some separate sound sampling processing/parsing and sometimes that takes a while.
Although, there is an occasional lag with the Xbone app, especially if I'm on Xbox Live multiplayer, but that lag occurs for me in both windowed and full screen.

FUll screen drawing uses a different method than window drawing. HOnestly it depends on the game and how it's coded. I have seen some games run better in WIndowed mod, and others run worse.
