Tbh if the main purpose is gaming then I'd say get a monitor, but whatever. 60hz is fine if you're cool with never going above 60fps.
Yeah, it's fine but it's like a car. A regular car is fine but it's not a Ferrari and it's not gonna climb over boulders like an SUV. But, yeah, it's fine.

Do you play on consoles or PC? If it's just consoles 60 HZ is fine.
Unless you're particularly good at shooters or whatnot, the difference isn't too bothering.
You certainly don't need a permit for that.

I do have a regular 180hz 27" monitor. I'm just looking for a big one like 40" that i can hang on my wall

Have you considered getting a gaming projector?
I suppose it's at least cheap.
I mean, most tvs these days are at least 100hz

If you're not going to use it for gaming, but more to watch movies and stuff, I guess it's fine.
Real gamers play in "Cinematic Quality" at 480p and 24 frames a second!
You already have a 180 hz. screen? You can set that to 60 hz. and see the difference.

Right-click your desktop.
Go to resolution.
Go to your screen and refresh rate.
Set your 180 hz. screen to 60 hz.

That's the difference that you will see.
Aside from that, it doesn't matter. You can still play multi-player with other people.

60Hz is actually the best choice. Affordable and acceptable for most of all.

What's your budget? New or 2nd hand?

Refresh rate isn't so much relevant with new TVs, most are now 120 Hz, if you want good compromise get a mini LED, Hisense does well.

If going for second hand Panasonic is worth trying to get, you could pick up a good 1080p 60 Hz IPS screen for great price. People don't see it now, but they'll be sought after at some point in the future mainly because TVs of that era have 3D support (niche but enthusiasts are out there) and also they don't suffer burn in issues like OLED so have a decent image after many years.

Isnt 1080p tvs basicly dead
for normal TV watching they likely will not use panels above 60Hz, so you are stuck in the need of most people,
unless you are willing to pay extra for 120Hz,

and being so generous with gaming equipment isnt like invest into health care, why dont everyone go easy, so they dont hurt themselves.

in my experience, after I bought a 240Hz monitor, at the moment gaming just become a whole lot more serious for me ,and the color looks a lot washed out because the panel they used for 240Hz, isnt really great at that time.
