Games (mainly RPGs?) with really fun archery?
Hiya, not sure if I'm in the right forum. Sorry about that.

One of the things I liked best about Oblivion and Skyrim was the archery. I particularly liked sneaking around and sniping, but in general, the archery just felt so good and so right in those games.

I haven't actually found any other games where I've enjoyed the archery, before or since. This includes Morrowind--I thought Oblivion really improved upon archery in the TES games. I've tried being the stealthy archer type in other RPGs since, and it's just not the same. No other game seems to master it.

What games have you played with really fun archery, particularly RPGs, particularly with archery similar to Oblivion/Skyrim, but also just in general?

(I hope I never type "archery" again--I have just typed it more times in one message than I ever have before in my life.)

Huh? How did this get moved to off-topic? This isn't off-topic. It's about computer games. Oh well.
Probably archery is terrible. but I'm throwing the link in for the lolz anyway...

Maybe Farcry 3? I'm no archer, but that game's got a bow that shoots arrows too.

And well, Mount & Blade has some archery in it, considering it's a medieval game. There are a few mods to 'perfect' aspects like archery a bit.

Mount & Blade is a good one, both of the games have demos where you can play until level 7, so I suggest downloading those and trying the game out for yourself. The archery is pretty fun and satisfying, and there's even horseback archery.

It has RPG elements (at least), maybe consider Crysis 3?

Yeah, Mount and Blade does have fun archery. I've heard others mention Far Cry 3, too. I've got it but hadn't played up to where you get the bow. I'll have to give it another try. It seemed a little bit too "hey I'm gritty! real gritty! see, gritty!" for me. Someone mentioned Tomb Raider as well. I'll have to see if there's a demo.

I didn't realize Crysis 3 had archery. :) I've got the first two, but I don't want to install Origin to play #3 (and I haven't played the first two yet :P )

It's a big thing in Crysis 3, the characters talk about it as if it were some great mythical dragon-slaying weapon (in a world where Guass rifles and laser weaponry exist, the bow is the bee's knees apparently). Even the guy you play on the box art has a bloody great big bow aimed at above your right shoulder! It plays a lot like the Far Cry 3 bow and arrow.

It is about computer games in general, and not an issue with the Steam Client or Steam Service.

As Steam games were not specified, it was not place in the Steam Community forum.

But I only play PC games on Steam... :( I thought it would be assumed I meant games on Steam.
