I love Warcraft, Modern Warfare, Medal of Honor and Metal Gear Solid Series though.

Obviously, but that doesn't explain anything about the play mechanisms. If you change all the skins in MoH, would it still be a war game? See what I mean?
From my perspective, MoH isn't a war game at all. The scenario only makes part of the story lore.

In my opinion that is called a war story, and not a war game.

Would Age of Wonders 3 count as a war game? Because I’ve been playing that recently, and it is one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever played.
