Yes, they're gross.
I'm just wondering what the psychological breakdown is of people that "Seriously" like what would be considered strange/cringe ASMR stuff.
And I don't mean the "background noise" ASMR where volume is leveled and it doesn't seem all that strange. Like the sounds of restaurant ambient chatter, or a wood working shop...
Nah... I mean the stuff where people are like "I'ma record me eating, let me shove this $3000 dual silicone ear shaped microphone into my mouth at the same time as I chew as loudly as possible without volume leveling. I'm then going lick the ear shaped microphone for 20 minutes afterwards." Kind of stuff.

That is the truth of it...
But like I said before it's not just the eating stuff... it's just the creepy in your ear that for most parts is just about as "calming" as fingernails on a chalk board... it's just plain wrong.
Bad "ASMR" that is creepy like weird clown creepy...

And just Background noise ASMR that is fine... and not creepy at all...

Totally different... I wouldn't even call the bad "ASMR"... it's more like torturing.
Pretty warming to listen to while sleeping if you lack social warmth.
Based on the user name of the OP (at the time of this thread) and the thread itself. ASMR isn't the real issue i'm now certain of that. Maybe the Meridian part of the ASMR is what worries the OP because it relates to another area of the body.
As a metal head idiot - hearing health wasn't a priority when I was growing up. I worked in many loud environments with zero ear protection simply because it wasn't in the company manual to use it and no-one knew any better.
Is it any different in any other type of music? Do people who go to acid house raves remember to pack their earplugs?
