No, he will be a trans disabled POC and if you don't like it you're a bigot.
Both words don't mean anything.
You can say: he woke up.
In that manner the word can be used.
Exactly. I'm always seeing woke people use words like "modern audience".
So far, all the games people have told me this applies to that I've played, I've loved personally. I have yet to have a single video game experience damaged or diminished, let alone ruined, by any of the things people bandwagon against these days in terms of player characters, design, character creation options, etc. etc.
If there's something about "modern gaming" that does impact my enjoyment, it's this, which lies completely outside those things: FOMO-based live service inspired models intruding on the game's design or gameplay meta distorting elements bleeding into core systems design on that basis.
For instance, Halo Infinite's core locking, color purchasing, challenges that incentivize arbitrary play instead of objectives and teamwork, reduction in unlockable customization options derived simply from playing the game, and "vaulting" of things on a seasonal basis.
Now that's something that actually detrimentally impacts my enjoyment as an existing member of a "fanbase" since the inception of a series I love. Not this other stuff which has zero impact on me personally. (Other than providing me with more options sometimes, which I welcome. 🤷🏻♂️)
It could mean something to people who have been initiated by whatever narrative the media is feeding them, but it's not a word that is taught at school. In that sense, it's not an academic term the average kid is supposed to understand.
You've discovered trends, congratulations.
AAA Studios don't spend millions trying to pander to minorities. They make their games trying to pander to as wide of an audience as they can.
One should give it a though when AAA studios who are the epythome of risk aversion don't spend their budgets pandering to you and pander to what you call 'minorities'.
Maybe the minority is the vocal bunch who are constantly complaining "there's black/trans/gay people in my soup".
and the ESG / blackrock type shell companies who fund the game industry wanna pander to certain groups
why exactly or we know why
but how exactly it benefits them money wise no one really knows
Grow up and stop trolling.
Those stats can be proven to be skewed. You'd actually have to look at them, though.
Of course, you won't do that. Or fully quote me. Because you love to leave out the facts. Oh, and you troll without making any argument. Then think you're smart.
All these statistics widen the definition of "gamer". Specifically to include women.
Playing a game on your phone 15 minutes a day, during your work break, DOES NOT MAKE YOU A GAMER.
Yet these stats include those people as "gamers". Which then make it look as if there's just tons of women out there playing games. They aren't. Not like men do.
Any objective measure will show a distinct lack of women gamers.
Twitch. Most women on there aren't playing games. They are in the "Just Chatting" section. Because they don't play video games. They don't want to. They aren't interested.
YouTube. Nearly every gaming YouTuber is male. The people doing deep dives into the history of gaming? Male. Top streamers? Male.
Competitions. I don't believe there has EVER been a female EVO grand champion on the main stage. Not even in the finals. Probably not even semi-finals.
Best RTS players? All male.
Best Tetris players? All male.
Best Hearthstone players? All male.
You actually just made my point right there.
Women play games. When it's playing house. (There's literally a dollhouse in one of the games that makes an allusion to the game being no more than playing with dolls. In the description of the item.)
Cool. When are you going to discover hypocrisy? Because you live it every day.
White men are treated like dirt across all entertainment. And they expect us to keep buying their products? NOPE!
My house is full of Star Wars stuff. Haven't bought related anything since Disney took over.
This "trend" is not a culture shift. It's forced by wealthy leftists with an agenda.
You huff copium harder than anyone ever.
Western AAA is all about women, LGBTQ, and racial minorities. They aren't going for a "wide audience". They are going for a narrow audience. Which is why their live-service games keep failing. They give NOTHING to the core audience.
The only reason the main character of that Assassins Creed game is black is due to DEI/ESG garbage. Same with Gladiator 2. There's no other reason to do so. It makes no sense. It's an insult to all of human history.
Millions are turning away from products that obsess over diversity. They are losing money.
Cope as hard as you want. You are still wrong. And always will be.
Nobody even knows who this "modern audience" is, clearly they haven't been born yet.
And by the time this "modern audience" is born, the games have aged like spoiled milk.
Maybe companies should try to think ahead a few centuries less. Or come up with a real full plan to increment their fancy modern ideas for modern audiences.
