For the most part black. When I'm feeling like a cold drink I'll make a latte and add some flavor. Note: stay away from salted caramel. It taste rancid.

Black coffee is akin to a sour orange for me. It jumps out at you, demands your attention, and tastes marvelous if just right.

put the contents in the cup, boiling water, milk.
Pick the cup up, put it on my lips, adjust the angle so some liquid comes out the cup, open my lips at the right time to accept the hot liquid. close my lips, let the taste buds get involved and swallow the liquid after a few seconds.

There is also something called "vaca preta" (black cow) in Brazil which as a few variants:
Chocolate icecream on hot coffee;
Cream/Vanilla icecream on cold cola soda.

Both are amazing.
