Why did a dead gorilla become a meme?
Just reading the title sounds messed up.

You got all that out of a pointless meme?
You clearly don't understand the message he is sending.
I get it considering Surlaw laid it out in the open; people find messages in everything if they really want to, even a meme I suppose.

To each their own.

Because western society has become so soft, weak and self-hating that they value the life of a gorilla over a child. It's almost as if some of these people have been artificially conditioned to hate things that are like themselves, and embrace & protect things that they have nothing in common with.

In all fairness, the reason it became a meme is more around the circumstances e.g. the mother wasnt really watching her child +the gorilla didnt do anything, if either of those circumstances didnt happen, it would not have meme'd.
I think it's also kind of a parodying how people get outraged over minor/ridiculous stuff then forget about it shortly afterwards by having this go on for months.

there hav been better mems

there r worse

id say the versatility of the joke is y it's big
why does anything become a meme?
Because it's like a joke most people will understand
Like in france a old meme would problably be
"BONSOIR!Have you seen how napolian height is?It is really short!HoHoHoHOhOHo!"
ostar 4 Thg10, 2016 @ 11:48am
You can see it in this very thread.

"gowrilla didnt do nuffin!" as it's dragging the kid around like a rag doll and about to kill it.

Must've been the "dumbness" of the situation and the "wrongness" some people saw in killing the gorilla or maybe the need to use the chance of harassing a major organisation like a zoo. I feel bad for the zoo which got shiz thrown at them because of that meme...

Quite sure way more gorillas have been dying in the wild after (and before) the incident and kids and adults alike have fallen many-a times to animal enclosures and no one made a huge kahoot about it.

Like that one Chinese mom who died in a tiger exhibit when she tried to persuade her angry daughter back in the car. It didn't become a meme. End of story.

Then again, why don't killed wild animals become memes? ... Was Lonesome George a meme? Poor guy...

Because independent thinking is overrated and everyone just likes laughing at tasteless and effortless "jokes."

No its because you/we learn that its pointless arguing with morans whom believe they are 'THE' justfully right.
Jurasic Park, first time this poor animal seen a live kill in decades. My dog killed a rabit & mouse last week. That poor animal would commit suicide if it could, it was just a treassure piece locked in a cage for the entertainment/profit of a few Humans.

Quite simple. A Gorilla was shot because a child wandered into an enclosure. People questioned if it was necessary to kill the Gorilla.

A few racists and supremancists decided to use the publicity to push their own narrative by saying that Harambe was in the same position as black people when it comes to authorities. The usual media outlets like Huffingtonpost and a few others wrote articles to that effect, bringing the whole thing into the mainstream...

...and thus a certain anonymous messaging boards took offense to these racists trying to suggest that the Harambe situation could be likened to black people being shot by cops, and how Harambe was an analogy for the situation of an entire demographic and thus deserved to be paid respects to... and thus that message board started to mock it... it swaped over to social media.. and it took off from there.

Which of course upset the racists and supremancists.. and thus getting people to try to troll them even harder with it...

'Cause... you know... nothing is more fun than when the guy you are trolling gets upset about being trolled... which should be obvious to anyone that has been on the internet for more than a week.

so basically it's racist to joke about gorillas being shot? i thought it was racist to compare gorillas with african americans
PyroPanda 4 Thg10, 2016 @ 8:53pm
I would have shot him to.. Child life is more important.
Johnny-Boy 4 Thg10, 2016 @ 8:53pm
Noone could take it seriously that they mourned a mad gorilla that people started to joke at it like people started to joke at Zarna for 'hugh mungus'.
Internet gonna be internet.
I'm still blaming the zoo for not putting up proper fences and I'm laughing at the guy who thought my point about it was stupid. :steamfacepalm:

Well it's racist unless an african american rapper decides to use "Gorilla" as part of his name.
