ok so i got a problem and so far even logitech themselves are puzzled.

i get a crackling sound/static noise when using my headset (in both ears).

ive tried almost everything to no avail hense why im turning to steam to ask. ive even got a replacement headset and tried to uninstall drivers and more.

has anyone else had this problem? if so did you fix it and how.

These are interferences usually caused by bad isolation. I got that a lot with cheaper ear-plugs and lanyard headphones.
I also got them while using a wireless mouse.

Try them somewhere else a bit away from you setup.

tried that in many places but still no fix. thanks for the suggestion but still gives me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ear cancer.

Did you try a different USB port?
Did you try replacing the dongle for the audio with another sold on their site?
Does it do it while directly connected (either my USB or audio jack)?
What about in passive mode?

The last two are needed to test where the issue is. I suggest you try and see if it fixes the issue. If the issue stops, then it is the wireless reciver in the headset. If it does not, then it is something with the speakers.

We are trying to trouble shoot where the issue is, not solve it as that can't be done yet.

bro ik you're trying to help but ive already tried all the basic ♥♥♥♥ and tested all i can think of.
including what you told me to do.

You have the static noise because of the sidetone in your settings, so set that to zero and it should go away. My mic is the only thing that gets a static noise, even with sidetone off. I wish this headset didn't have these problems because I like it. I have been unable to figure it out.

i just had this problem, all i did after reading this FOREVER,

-make sure your dongle is plugged in all the way
-reset all sound settings to default ( in a different profile maybe i just did it without thinking about it and it reset everything :/ )
-turn the headset off, restart your computer, and turn your headset on after your pc is on
^ the last one prob doesn't matter how you do it but thats just how i did it and it fixed it.

I've had the same problem but mine is more like static. It comes and goes and its super hard to predict when it will happened. It just started popping/crackling for a few days now. The last time mine did this was probably last October/November.

To everyone saying it's the sidetone, it is not! The sidetone is just 0 latency monitoring of your mic. Turning sidetone down may make it so YOU can't hear the static, but anyone listening to your mic still hears it.

That was pretty scary, I think your headphone needs an exorcist. But then again judging that it's 2 years later, you probably just need nothing. LOL

I believe I can confirm that the issue is poor insulation of the wires of the microphone. I own two of them. One has a static problem, while the other does not. I disassembled both, and I found that one of the wires leading from the mic to the board had some bare copper strands exposed. (pic in link below) The functioning headphones do not.

If your headphones are still warranted, I would RMA them. If not, I'm personally going to find a broken pair on eBay to use for parts to replace the mic and associated PCB. Unfortunately, a few of the wires are soldered directly to the board, and I don't feel comfortable soldering. If you do, just replacing the exposed wire should do the trick.

I have the static only when the mic is active, and it comes through as feedback as if there is a fan blowing on the mic. Would the exposed wires cause this? Also, it only happens if I am not "using" the mic... like if I talk or something, it doesn't do it, but if I am quiet, it hisses really badly until I talk or something again.

I used to have an audio desync issue with my headset that WASN'T a Logitech one.

What I had to do to get rid of it was clean install Windows 10 and never install Logitech gaming software ever again.

If you're still using the gaming software instead of g-hub, this could be the source

I use G Hub. Now, it is worse. EVERY time I mute my headset, it turns the mic off. Period. I have to pull the dongle, turn off the headset, and then plug in the dongle, wait for it to search for the headset, and then turn the headset back on. Sometimes that process only turns on the sound to the right side, though, so I have to do it all over again. It's fun. 10 out of 10, recommend this headset, especially when I have to do it in game. -_-
