I doubt that as I heard it when I was at junior school before that. But then that's how jokes work - they roll around in cycles.
Yeah, the Daily Sport (or Sunday Sport now) is a cracker of a magazine. They've had other historical gems like

Tabloids have been banned from supermarkets here in the USA for quite some time, thankfully.
Then I realized that's pretty accurate of all artificial flavors. Grape candy doesn't taste remotely like grapes. Strawberry candy doesn't taste remotely like strawberries. So I guess you have a point.
