Yep, and it all started with Pong. Everything after that, is a clone of Pong in some way, shape or form.
Though it may look like a Blizzard/Activision game, it is still not. IMO, that's why so many people are collected by the hype. I watched the team's broadcast and they love the game with a passion. They even went into the codes/design of first Diablo game and dug its files to get a better understanding of statues, architecture, characters... etc. of Diablo II LoD. The updated game UI looks terrific.
Also like EA and Rockstar (for Burnout:Paradise and Red Dead 2, respectively), I've never really had a problem with the launchers. I mean, besides the annoyance of Rockstar having a stupid update system for its own launcher, when it has to uninstall both the launcher and the Social Club for a 10 kilobyte update, and then reinstall both the launcher and the Social Club every other day, that is. They're slow kids on the short bus, and they can't help it. Not everyone can be like Steam, that can update the client without completely uninstalling it every day. That takes brains.
Rant aside, I don't mind the Blizzard launcher, for exactly one game. It's not even a minor annoyance. I just consider it a main menu of sorts.
As soon as they go on sale for half price, with all the DLC. And no sooner.
Keep spoiling yourself, and when you get the game, you'll have no surprises.
Don't you like surprises?
Often I’m hesitant with remasters as they do often come across as simply undeserved money grabs that don’t do justice to the originals. But that doesn’t look to be the case here. It makes a lot of sense to do a remaster now with new games in the works and will perhaps keep the new games in line with the richness of D2.
