What a daft comment. There ARE people who turned straight in the real world. I know of two.
But in any case, that argument about "one way" race is daft because the whole point of such stories is usually the downtrodden, the underdog, the under-privileged, or whatever done good. You can't have that compelling narrative the other way round.
How hard is this to understand?
You can't have a rags to riches type story if you start off at the riches.
Sure, if people perceive that, then that's going to happen.
But here's the kicker - wouldn't you rather make decisions based on FACT rather than spurious and often incorrect ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?
There's loads of evidence of that knocking around these days. One only has to look at antivaxxers playing with their lives with coronavirus.
To me, when I watched the trailer I recalled when Fuse was publicised for the PS3 by Insomniac. The early works looked pretty interesting as it had a kind of Borderlands kind of character design - quirky, fun and unusual styles.
But then when the pre-release trailer came out, it was as dull as dishwater and sadly banal "normal" gung-ho characters you'd seen a million times before.
This looks exactly the same in that regard - dull characters you probably can't remember what they even look like 30 seconds after the trailer finishes.
This is why I 've banged on about honesty and basic critical thinking. I'm old and I've been around since the dawn of video games, and I have seen MANY MANY people make ♥♥♥♥ decisions based on lies and flawed reasoning and regret it later.
I just want to stop that if I can and help make better consumers as it doesn't just affect video games, but your whole life.
I might get complaints about the lack of the OG cast, or that people think the new character designs are boring and uninspired, but I don't get these complaints about the race, sex, and haircut choice of one of these characters that we honestly know nothing about beyond what was shown in a short teaser trailer. Also since Saints Row has always had character creation, that may be just one example of an infinite number of characters that are possible. Heck, in the previous games you've always been able to put feminine clothing and features on masculine characters, and vice versa. Nobody complained about "wokeness" then.
Which character is gay?If you are talking about the black short haired lady she is just a showcase model it’s just a version how your created character can look like like in mass effect
Right, my thoughts exactly. Why then is there so much "Saints Row is ruined by SJW Propaganda and wokeness!" It's baffling to me.
If it were just stuff that affected nobody including theirselves, sure I'd leave the loonies at it. Tehy'll either find out for themselves, or won't.
But that's not how it works. Nothing occurs in a vacuum. Either bad logic and fallacies in meaningless stuff like video games also mean you will think similarly about more impactful things in your life, or you straight up are deluded by propaganda and such and will make some crap decisions that will affect others.
Again, one only has to look at the complete idiots who are antivaxxers or no-maskers - they seem to think it's "something something freedoms" when it's utterly selfish. It's not so much themselves they are hurting but others too. More so in a lot of cases.
It's why places like Iceland and New Zealand had zero cases for months and months after they got rid of it - their people complied. Yet the ignorance in countries like America and the UK, spread by certain poilitical groups, only served to kill more people and help the virus mutate. All because they don't understand basic science and arrogantly think they know better.
I know, it's small potatoes to do it with thoughts regarding video games, but it does help.
Consider this, I almost never watch any trailers, nor pre-release anything really. I wait until a review pops up for a game, and I may or may not add it to my wanted list. If I do choose to buy it, I'll wait til it hits the price I wish.
And using this basic logic the last time I bought a game where I didn't know EXACTLY what I was getting myself in for, was well over 20 years ago. So if it works for me, it can absolutely help others.
Plus, 25% more people watched the new Lego Star Wars gameplay reveal trailer. You can only rename the same FIFA game a certain amount of times before having to give it a new engine, remake old movies when we already know the plot, and create only so many Saints Row games.
They actually tried to make a serious sandbox like GTA and they failed af lmao
Parroting and pushing that dumb narrative EGS apologists love using back in 2019, I see?
Alright, time to do this again.
Steam is not the only place that has a 30% revenue cut.
Countless of other third-party stores and consoles' built-in stores such as PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace and the Nintendo eShop are also taking 30% of the developer/publisher's revenue as well because why? It's the industry standard!
Yet for some reason, Valve in particular was criticised for following the industry standard while GOG, Microsoft Store and Origin got away with it despite these three stores also following the industry-standard revenue cut while Valve does in fact LOWER the revenue cut to 25% and even 20% for games that sell extremely well on Steam.
https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamworks/announcements/detail/1697191267930157838 If developers/publishers want it even more lowered to 0%, they can always generate Steam keys and sell them directly on their own store/website. Valve does not make any profit from generated Steam keys sold on other sites, only from direct purchases on Steam.
EGS is not the only distributor on PC that takes less than 20% of the revenue share.
Itch.io also allows developers to take more than 90% or even 100% of the revenue.
Besides, there's more good than harm in selling games on more than one store/launcher.
The lowered revenue cut is not the reason why Volition is releasing the new Saints Row on EGS only. The real reason why developers/publishers made their games EGS exclusive is because Epic offered them millions of dollars upfront to do so:

That should be pretty clear for the developer of Axiom Verge 2 you mentioned, I recall his post stating his games won't make enough money that he needs for the bills and his family:

It's not hard to assume that Volition/Deep Silver are doing this to get back their development costs so they won't suffer a loss if the game flops which they're probably expecting with the way they're making this corporate-safe reboot that pisses off its established fanbase.
Saint Row devs - We were always woke! Saint Row critiques toxic masculinity.
