Do people still hate on the Epic Games Launcher?
This is not to start drama, but genuine curiousity since Warframe had a unreal tournament cross over for weapon skins and the only real things Id want to play if I reinstalled were Diabotical and Dauntless. I stopped supporting epic cause of the circus that was the epic vs apple stuff, not a fan of Fortnite myself but I did like save the world. But back to the topic, do people still hark on it at all?

I prefer having only one launcher so no non-steam launcher for me.

In terms of work ethic and morality of EPIC games, I'm currently very appalled by the CEO. Honor is very important to me and this CEO is the opposite of what I stand for.

I totally agree, I was just curious since the CEO has some questionable things. Now I have GOG mainly for like older games not on steam and thats really it, obviously uplay and origin are basically part of certain games you own on steam.

But yeah, I just never understood the mindset of the CEO, especially purposely breaking TOS with Apple.
as long as Steam is top on other launcher then no need to Epic games (unless for Rocket league) also Epic games was banned in my region

Whoa hold up really? How and why did they get banned from your region? Thats insane.

I do own rocket league, I got it for free with one of my old GPU's and really lost interest in it. Epic is more pro dev which is nice, but if there was one thing I learned...just wait for steam releases for epic exclusives since I felt like I was playing an early access build of like Borderlands 3 for example.

You tell me, OP: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/EpicGamesSucks

Personally I never used the EGS. No reason to, they have nothing to add to my purchasing and playing habits.

I actually did not know a group like that existed. I gave in to the hype myself and got Borderlands 3 on epic, but thank god it came to steam and I hardly use EGS any more. I was genuinely curious if people were still on the hate wagon, cause its a shame a lot of good games are getting held under epics grasp. Im happy for devs since they get more money to help development, but its a terrible store in terms for consumers.

I don't care about multiple launchers. I DO care about there being no direct management tools for multiple install folders with epic.

Is there really none of those? You'd think they would have that :/

Publishers get the money, not developers. Big difference there. The money doesn't go to development, but new lease cars for CEOs.

Hating corps always has been a thing, as is jumping on a hype train. Hating the EGS was a hype train. It has cooled down a bit, likely because the actual exclusives have dried up a bit as well.

Okay now THAT I did not know. I was given the impression money goes to developers to help with development of their games. Now that is incredibly shady, kinda glad I left when I did now. Shame too since Darkest Dungeon 2 is gonna be on Epic for a while along with Diabotical and Dauntless (Which I doubt will come to steam but meh, I can find other Arena Shooters and Looters to go for)

Nope none. You can choose where a game downloads when u download it, that's it. I jiggled my drives around and lo an behold... I now have loads of downloaded games that the launcher can't see xD I'm sure there's a workaround I just cba to fiddle w it.

Personally I still hate them and I don't think this will ever change.
Begal 14/dez./2020 às 5:16
The EGS is about to become obsolete, because most of the dumb exclusivity bullshittery contracts seem to have ran out. But there is still one more game that I'm interested in so I'm still hating on them.

Yeah, really theres hardly a lot of games grabbing my attention since Im already going through the backlog and really epic handing free handouts seems not that great imo. Yeah its free stuff, but Im more of "Support the dev by buying their game" and not "Grab a freebie"
