Ratailer purchases and end-user opurchases are all considered 'sales'
See this is why I apply healthy sklepticism to anything that comes out of companies. They know exactly how to play to expectations and assumptions.
it wasn't a lie. The article clearly mentioned that they reported the sales as sold-in vs sold.
It's the same thing Microsoft did with the Xbox 360 when they were trying to make it seem like they were beating the PS3.
They'd report on numbers shipped, sold-in, etc and not actual units purchased by a consumer.
Also the article even says they didn't lie about their game selling well, and it sold far better then Borderlands 2 did for instance.
5 millions copies out of the distributor factory are 5 million sold. that they are idling on the shelves doesn't matter.
active players is also no good indicator for projecting sales.
This is the comment with the least typos, you've made
Well it's good that we can joke around. Some people get angry when jokes are made about them.
But I'm just playing around, no insult intended : D
"what's your favorite burger on McDonalds?" and I said "I don't have one".
And then he says "Oh......oh, I thought it was @ss-perger"
2) the language used was again 'sold in' which if you know what that means is relevant. Just because you dont undrestand common terminology for how games are sold that doesnt mean they are 'lying to investors' that means 'you are ignorant for basic retail terms and are now screaming bloody murder instead of educating yourself'

The press release clearly states 'sold in' which has a very specific meaning. Just because you don't know what that is, doesnt mean you were 'decieved' it means 'you should educate yourself on terms and not blame th press release because you are incapable of reading'
Aka its stupid ofr a games website to NOT UNDERSTAND basic retail terms, then whine about 'being decieved' based on their own ignorance on terminology they are supposed to understand
Yeah...note the qualifying clause there.
Yup. It tends to around this time of yeagr.
Or just ask the questions like... are they counting sales to retailers in with end user sales?"
If they weren't 'Ignorant' they couldn't use syuch a click-baity title though.
You're blaming the wrong parties there, love.
I like that one.
Yep. Its why every sale has the wording UP TO xxx% off. Because 0% discount is included in up to. They just need to have 1 item at say 90% off and they can say check out our sale, up to 90% off.
100% legal and all in the wording.
