This thread is to let people know of games made available by Publishers/Developers and/or Authorized Retailers for free.

Shortcut to Current Giveaways

I will keep this up to date as best I can and as I am informed of such giveaways. I will not be searching out these giveaways, so I am relying on the community to keep me informed.

Requirements for Giveaway to be posted:

• Must be on an Authorized Retailer or Official site
  
• Giveaway must be free to everyone
  
• No requirements beyond an account and/or service
  
• No contests, lottery or raffle Giveaways
  
• No limited quantity Giveaways
  
• Dedicated Giveaway page (not one buried in the store)
  
• Computer Games/Software Only

More may be added as needed

I will not give credit for listings as multiple people may have informed me of the same Giveaway.

Grey market (unauthorized reseller), user or anything that looks like it may not be safe/legal, will not be listed and will be deleted from this thread. If I am not sure of the source, I may remove it/not list it just to be safe.

If a user wishes to giveaway a game, they can:

• Post in a game's trading sub-forum.
  
• Post in a giveaway group.
  
• Use Steam Gifts[www.steamgifts.com] (not owned or operated by Valve)

I reserve the right to stop updating this thread, lock it or delete it, for any reason and at any time

*3rd party Giveaways posted out-side of this thread are considered advertising and will be removed and the user warned or banned (if previously warned).

**There will be no criticizing/complaining about the services/companies giving away these games. They are free games and you are not forced to get them. Discussion of the games is allowed, provided there is no arguing and it is done with in reason. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no one has to agree with anyone else.

Hey thanks for the update on Rising Storm. Is it MP only ? Wikipedia didn't say much but I got it anyway. Free is free :)

Why would you delete it? Even if you won't touch it, it's there. Maybe you'll want to give it a try one day.

i dispise multiplayer its boring crap and is slowly killing games as companys cannot be bothered to create decent story driven games..got a feeling that i will not be able to play ANY new game in 20 years since it will all be multiplayer only crap

Well, I agree with you on the point of lacking Single Player content.
I do think that FPS games are primarily made for MP though, at least nowadays. I can't remember one good FPS single player campaign after Brothers in Arms.


My (rather unpopular) opinion on games: Story>Gameplay>Graphics.


I still don't understand why you would delete the game though. You've got it for free, might as well keep it.

Can you base that impression with numbers in any way?
And how will erasing the game from your account change that?

Coop and multiplayer are technical enhancements, even of story driven games. Just because they exist......... books didnt vanish........

He has a point though. Lots of games put more emphasis on MP. I do think that the SP deserves work as well though. I do think that having no SP is better than having a half-***ed one though.

i agree with shepard as multiplayer is killing games but video game companies are not what they used to be now . Earlier they made games which were story driven because online multiplayer was not developed . story driven games also provide less revenue to the company than multiplayer as the only revenue they are getting is from the base price of the game thats it.
multiplayer is getting more emphasis nowadays because companies get money from third party servers,in game items etc . also people prefer to play multiplayer games because of its replayability. i for one dont like to play a story driven game once i have finished it because there is no fun in doing the same thing all over again , but in multiplayer the fact that you play with thousands of people with the same intrests as you do and you are able to make friends one your favourite game attracts people towards it and thus video game companies prefer it , because at the end of the day they are also in it for the money (exeptions are there)

well the topic is for free games from the developpers, that should include any system. People post about stuff from GOG, Origin also. the stuff is free to celebrate the 2 years anniversary of the greatest movie of all time.
