Pokemon anime only gets good when ash remembers enough not to be a duffus. Theres been 1 or 2 times he came close to being really competent near the end of a season. Only to be a total newbie the next season start with his pikachu going from level 60-80 to lvl 2-5.

There was one season where he was almost going to face the elite 4 and he only lost because his charizard decided to disobey completely and cost him the match, through no fault of his own.

That charizard is cancer. Ash has collected so many badges at this point. And saved its life so many times.

That pikachu is so nerfed he can stand against legendaries and then poof a starter owns him.

For that reason the series needs a protagonist growth and then start a new protagonist but with cameos of the previous ones (like people gossiping about the events in another region or the actual protagonist fighting the former one after growing (like in silver/gold/crystal)

The show? probably not, I do like the PS4 games and I have to say I have enjoyed them far more then the last few Pokemon games. Cyber Sleuth in particular is quite good.

Is Cyber Sleuth actually good? The Japanese Virtual Novel style of it put me off. I'm picky about good writing, I would absolutely love the game if it had that, but from the little I've seen of it Cyber Seluth looks like sludge. I'm all ears if you have anything to say about that game.
