that mighte be true for games like civilization but theres plenty of games that arent more boring to watch than cs or dota. for example rocket league, many people play it, very competetive, just as entertaining to watch as cs go, yet nobody watches it
any you want to tell me that hearthstone is exciting to watch or why is it always top5 ?
Yeah you might be right with some games but on most games it makes no sense.
this thread is about the lack of viewers or the unproportianally big amount of viewers not the lack of streamers.
even 1 streamer can be enough for 30k people to watch.
Im not denying that csgo, dota, Lol etc are really popular games.
now im not suggesting anything but think about how easy it would be for a company like steam that owns tens of thousands of servers to boost viewercounts on their own games.
Same with blizzard, you might think their games are struggling but they are also always up there in the top 10-15
Seeing the viewer gap between most games even 2k-3k viewers is enough to boost a game to the "front page" where it is always visible.
Its not a big secret that young people tend to like what appears popular.
Its a win-win situation for big publishers and twitch.
its a common practice in the advertising industry to say stuff like " our product is the NR. 1 sold in <insert any country>" and similiar stuff, you get the idea.
