I've heard a couple of tracks from the new album and it just sounds like the kind of crap that people like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga make. I'm definitely not their target audience anymore lol.
You can make your music more melodic and chilled whilst still staying true to your roots, just look at a band like Deftones they have some epic melodic ballads on their newer albums but the guitars on other tracks are still crushingly heavy.
