ON A VALENTINES DAA-AAAAY
He had seriously good vocal chords, but might over overdone it, attempting to give the best live performances each time.
Hense, they had to change music genres and adjust accordingly. They branched out into rap, techno, and pop music. Gone are the good old days of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, etc.

"I like iced tea"
"Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up out there"
- Chester Bennington
I've heard a couple of tracks from the new album and it just sounds like the kind of crap that people like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga make. I'm definitely not their target audience anymore lol.
You can make your music more melodic and chilled whilst still staying true to your roots, just look at a band like Deftones they have some epic melodic ballads on their newer albums but the guitars on other tracks are still crushingly heavy.
