1. In device manager locate RAP.NX (it will have exclamation mark on its icon)
2. Right click and select update driver software
3. In update driver dialog select "Browse my computer for driver software"
4. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
5. Choose Microsoft controller class
6. Choose xbox 360 controller 2009
Windows will be kicking and screaming telling it is not compatible and might cause problems, tell it to continue.
In rare case windows might not have 360 controller driver pack, I made windows update to get those drivers just by plugging in standard 360 controller. Probably Microsoft is keeping those drivers somewhere as normal download, but i could not be arsed to look for them.
Tested it for HRAP V3 and VX on Windows 7 64bit and Windows 8.1.
This solution should work for most controllers for xbox360 (name of the unknown device will change).
"Most" is because when i was looking for solution i have found information on issues with some older MadCatz sticks caused by motherboard chipset incompatibility, I could not test this.
This worked for me, thanks.
I also use it so my Dualshock 4 controller is seen as a 360 controller by windows, that way it works with games which only support a 360 controller.
Yupp, works wonders, especially since Windows PC does not like Playstation controller types. Or might not fully support off-brand controllers in general.
Yeah, it's an amazing little device isn't it? I was unsure when I first bought one but I can't imagine gaming without it now. I've picked one up for every computer and console I have now just because I am too lazy to move one around :p
This worked for me.
Thank you.
I can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ believe that this post is 3 years old and it was still the only thing that helped me out today after 4 hours of trying to find drivers for this thing.
I wish nothing but happiness and good will upon you and your bloodline oni911b
