AMD Ryzen 5 5600x paired with GTX 1660 Super Ventus OC

For those that think you need massive system to achieve 300+ FPS you are mistaken. I ran the heaven mod benchmark and my avg FPS is 430 with 180 1% low.

My system is basically the below to achieve 300+ , i was using Ryzen 5 2600x previously and changing to 5600x my FPS doubled.

Ryzen 5 5600x
GTX 1660 Super ventus OC - slight overclock on core clock +150 and +700 on memory clock
DDR 4 - 3200mhz
500gb Nvme

really depends on the game and res, and settings

1080p 60hz display does not take much of a cpu or gpu to do that

oh lol i forgot to mention game hahah my bad . not even 1080p im playing on 1280 x 1024 res low settings for competitive . Previosuly i was getting less than 200 on Cs2 and less than 250 on valorant.

Depends entirely on the game, and you're playing e-sports games exclusively which is nothing compared to newer demanding graphics titles where that GPU would struggle to get even 60 FPS.

It's not a hot take or shocking development that low end hardware is enough for e-sports titles like CS2, Valorant, Apex, etc. with respectable framerates. Those games are made to run that way.

Thanks for the advice dude, I can't get 300fps in Cyberpunk so I go play Valorant(which I have no interest in playing) instead on my CRT monitor.

This is correct. Massive computer systems for the sole purpose of gaming have always been looked at as a complete waste of resources and computing power.

This is why gaming consoles ship with low-end hardware yet are still able to achieve acceptable gaming performance.

One example is my computer. I'm using a 12600k, a $160 CPU and I get easily 120fps in every game. I don't need more because my display is only 120hz.

My Rx 6700 was only $259 brand new. I got starfield premium edition free with it.

My PC is just one huge, gigantic gaming bargain.

It's always the new computer people getting the i-9 and rtx 4090. There's no value at all in the top end. There's no value in new parts.

Honestly, the only i9- that is even remotely interesting is the i9-10900. That's the only i9 people should be getting. That or the i9-10850 is another good one.

I would have bought the i9-10900 if my 12600k wasn't so cheap.

I'd say even ryzen 5 3600X should be good enough for such low end GPU like the 1660 Super 6gb
the 5600X is good enough for up to rtx 3070 / rtx 2080Ti if you dont play competitive shooters
