dont buy intel just buy amd 3950x if u wanna use that much money it will be 300-400$ cheaper with more threads and cores and also will be 40% faster.you can thank me later and mark thos as an answer

Are you high? Do you know what the MSRP of a 3950x is? :)

Most games cannot make use of all those threads, Unity tries but since it's Unity it fumbles around and actually makes performance worse. I have had to release multiple patches for Unity games to make them perform correctly on high core count CPUs because the engine's way too confident in its ability to efficiently parallelize stuff.

games need core performance not more of them
intel still have higher core performance

So far the only Unity game that worked for me fine was Ori, and still I had to add a line in shortcut to fall back to older API, else it stuttered. The game is not even remotely demanding, and yet it stutters. And my CPU is just 4c/4t so idk why it struggles.

no thanks, I will stay with intel. I like my 5ghz OC on all cores for gaming.

If you actually believe frequency is what matters - then you should've bought FX-9590, 5GHz but much cheaper.

This is because Unity uses windowed mode rendering and it uses BitBlt. That causes stuttering, windowed mode should use Flip to avoid stutter, but Unity only learned this in 2019 and newer versions of their engine. My mods can fix that problem for older Unity engine games.

I just stay with the i9, and Intel, very happy, my choices are only i9 10900K or wait for the next
i9 11900k.

like I said switching from i5 9600k Oc'ed at 5ghz to a i9 9900K Oc'ed at 5ghz has given me in many games +25fps.

It's not all about frequencies, but about the new tech CPU, which is when newer far better.

So, basically, yet another case of game and DWM not understanding each other? Windowed mode seems to be hit or miss even today. And more than that, some games absolutely refuse to go exclusive fullscreen, even when they say they support it. Especially this is the case with emulators, which is a bit of an issue since they already often have lots of added input latency, and windowed mode adds even more.
Your mods indeed fixed a lot of stuff already, tho I bet it's not that easy to do it all on your own. Pretty much any game has some issue that brings down all the fun.

Far better like what? Like 4% difference between i5-8600k and i5-9600k? Or like 30% difference between i7-3770k and i7-7700k over 5 years? Oh, wait, 7700k has way higher frequencies, so in fact it's more like 15% difference over 5 years.
Please, do tell me about "the new tech CPU", considering Intel are basically just overclocking Sandy Bridge for almost 10 years now, occasionally adding more cores games don't even use yet. 3% per year improvement, far better indeed.

you should gaming with the new games with UE4 for example or BF5, you will see how the 7700K is outdated, the perfs with i9 9900K are the best and it's not only with "15%". In few games, even the i9 9900K can't push the 2080ti usage at 99%....don't think about the 7700K which is outdated for this GPU.
it's day and night each time with a new CPU.
Funny the people who think the i7 4790K is good today in gaming.....with the last 2080ti, it's a massive bottleneck...with 2080ti, i9 9900K or nothing, with the new 3080ti, I will upgrade the CPU i think, i9 10900K or 11900K, I will see.

Why would you compare CPUs with different amount of cores/threads like that? Per-core performance difference between 7700k and 9900k is almost non-existent.

7700K vs i9 9900K is ridiculous....with 2080ti, the 7700K is outdated and is a massive bottleneck...
It's so funnny the people who think it's useless a new CPU....
I have tested my self, and there is a reason why I need the best CPU...

Right, with card being close to 100% usage at all times. The bottleneck is unbelievable.

I don't want a video, I have myself the i7 4790K, I have gained +60fps or +120fps in CSGO (nice for 240hz) switching from this one to a new CPU.....
I don't believe your video, but my own experience, cause I had almost all the CPUs and GPUs....
If you think like that you are in the side of the people who says "the eye human can't ses over 30fps, no difference", I laugh.
Don't think there is no reason why all the 2080ti owners have the i9 9900K for the best performance....and not the i7 4790k....
