Dell Optiplex 7010 Graphics Upgrade

Hello, I am trying to find out what video card would be best suited for the Dell Optiplex 7010

Specs:
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @3.20GHz
Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
RAM: 16GB
Approx. Total Memory: 1792 MB
Display Memory: 32 MB
Shared Memory: 1760 MB

I would personally say get an SSD (if you don't already have one) and a 1660. Finding DDR3 for cheap now is difficult at best.

If so that's a tough one to replace without being handy with a dremel

Google the title of your post. There will be many posts about what people have actually done with the same system as you have. Dells of that age can be a little bit difficult to upgrade so you need to read real experiences.

For example one guy is saying -

gtx 1650 requires class 2.3.1 uefi bios so it won't work as the 7010 bios isn't 2.3.1 level.

Now this could be rubbish but read what everyone has to say about what works.

ssd is a must on a modern build
makes everything so much faster even on older builds

16g of ram is fine for it

get a dedicated gpu, and psu
1060 6g or better if possible

I'm starting to think from all of these replies that it isn't that great of a PC to game on or modify, even with the weakest of graphic cards...

the 3770k has higher base and turbo clocks in locked boards and much better when oc'd

i5-3470 will be limited because it only has 4 threads (and its single threaded performance isn't great), so games that use more than 4 threads will not perform particularly well compared to i7s older and newer than it.

Still, you can get by. I'd suggest a used 1060 or RX 580, or a new 1660 Super if you want to get a better PSU. Otherwise, a card that runs off the slot power alone can do alright. Cards like that would include the 1050 Ti and 1650 Non-super.
