Fallout 4 on PS4 render distance problems?
I just got all the Dlc for Fallout 4 on my PS4 and after it installed I noticed that things weren't rendering until I was really close. For example, on the road to Red Rocket Truck Stop I have a watch tower over the road, and it didn't load in until I was maybe 20ft from it. Is this a PS4 thing, or is it because of the DLC? Would it help if my hard drive was faster (I think that the factory one is like 5600 rpm or something, and I want to get a 1tb 7200 rpm one).

There are 5400 or 5900rpm drives too. Then again 7200 which we recommend for gaming.
Fallout 4 depends a lot on loading times, guess also in game.
But generally a console version should not really experience hardware issues. Its then again that Fallout 4 has technical issues by default. Late texture loading is one of them.

I've noticed the late texture loading before on the bridge to sanctuary, but the models not loading in are new to me.

After you install large games/updates on Consoles, go and boot into safe mode and defrag the drive.

What Sony refers to as "Rebuilding the Database"

If it's an older 500GB HDD, think about replacing it.
7200rpm Drives are much better overall, such as Seagate FireCuda series

The console waas bought new last Christmas. It was the Uncharted 4 bundle. I don't know if that is old or not, but I would think that it is newer.
