Would it be safe to leave a game running overnight on a laptop?
For some weird reason, I want more hours on some of my games, so I want to know if it would be safe to leave my laptop on overnight with a game running on it to get more hours. Would it have a negative effect and make it overheat, or make it slower, or would it be fine to leave on overnight?

Should be fine. Any modern system will automatically reduce clock speeds to prevent over heating. You don't have to be playing the game though, just leave it sitting at the menus or alt tab to windows.

Have the game minimized and paused, that would be best as it wont be fully utilized by the cpu or gpu

as for temps, just keep it elevated and on a flat surface so the vents dont get covered.

depends on the game
some do not idle even when paused or without focus

if you can use game options to save and exit when not playing them

Instead of that, you can use archi steam farm in order to idle your game.
