^WRONG/No clue what they are talking about.
^Air is correct.
They do use the same save file format. They just do not sync through save cloud. You have to go get your save files from windows and put them on your Linux computer. If you computer is no longer working, then you will have to recover your data (unless the hard drive is damaged).
On Windows:
Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData
There will a folder with a very large number. Copy that ENTIRE folder and it's contents (it contains all your saves and your profile which records the skins you have and stuff like your golden keys, and badass ranks).
On linux:
~/.local/share/aspyr-media/borderlands\ 2/willowgame/savedata/
Place that folder with the long number in there. Next, go inside the folder. If any files have capital letter in them, rename them to be ALL lower-case. For example, if you have something like "Save0001.sav", then rename it to "save0001.sav" etc.
If you have any save files with letters (the save file numbers are hex digits), change them to numbers (use a different number that doesnt exist already). For example, if you have something like "save000a.sav" then change it to "save0010.sav" (just be sure to use number that isn't already assigned).
Hope this helps.
i never said it was a FACT
You know, whats otherwise known as a POSSIBILITY?
And it actually makes sense if that were the case.
so calm the hell down Mr Knowitall
Next time try answering someones question without being sarcastic or rude
Thanks
Oh, and this thread wasnt originally posted in the BL2 forum, so try being a lil more considerate of people trying to help :)
You were in fact wrong, and it turned out that you did not know what you were talking about. I don't care if your ego is now damaged.
If you don't know for sure, then do not answer or spread misinformation. Wait for someone else who does know for sure. Thank you.
What if someone else came by this thread before I answered with a similar problem and read your useless response?
Someone else would have given the correct answer eventually and guess what
SOMEONE DID
So its IRRELEVANT
stop being an arrogant little child and show some respect
No. Respect is earned and not freely given.
Think again kid
Cool beans. I don't really care. I came here to solve OP's issue. Now I'm done. Have a nice life.
peace :)
Dumba$$ answers a question he doesnt actually know the answer to, misleading the OP, and wasting everyones time. Someone knowlegdeable corrects and answers correctly, actually helping OP. Dumba$$ throws a fit. Still knows nothing about the subject matter. OP got useful help in the end. One person is less ignorant, one just as ignorant as before. Call it a win.
If you dont know what you are talking about, STFU.
Bull$hit. I moved my saves from linux to windows without a hitch.
Depends on the Game I suppose.
For alot of the ones I've seen, the Steam Cloud Sync was a completely different set of saves, based on the OS (Windows vs Mac vs Linux)
