Stalker games has literally Screwed with my computer on a damaging scale

Ok, basically, this is just a warning for people, i know that this game is very prone to crashing, but the problem with me is that when it crashed, it shutdown completely, after that my HDMI doesnt get read anymore, (which is the port from my graphics card to TV) now only my VGA works (Motherboard)

Occasionally the HDMI will work after alot of screwing about, i got it to work, went to play a different game, and now that crashed in a similar way and its caused the same problem, my computer was fine up until i played stalker and now i'm pretty sure its somehow managed to do some internal damage.

I have read that mostly when a computer shuts down it is a failsafe to overheating n all dat crap, well i know thats not the case because i have a

GTX 670
Intel i5 3670k or some ♥♥♥♥ like that
and a 650w PSU

other games have crashed before admitally probably due to my i5 chip, but not like this, and it only happened the second i played stalker, and like i said it can't be overheating due to the fact it is such an old game, and my rig can run Crysis 3 in max with no crash....soo i'm just putting it out there as a warning for people, and also if anyone has come across this problem before and knows a fix, i would much appreciate it.

Ye i know, but from everything that i can gather up its the only solution, ever since it shutdown the comp, my hdmi needs alot of playing around with, had to disconnect and re-connect my graphics card before it picked it back up, so probably gonna stay away from stalker for awhile,

Gonna test some other games too, make sure its not spread to other games now.

And thanks btw for avin a look, already had abit of a scan but didn't really muster up much, found a ''fix'' through regedit but didnt do ♥♥♥♥ lol

Sound like you video card and/or motherboard may be failing. My wife had a similar issue and we had to replace her motherboard. The PCI-E slot went bad.

Software won't effect hardware like that. Parts just fail eventualy. Stalker isn't that graphicaly intensive, so shouldn't be the issue.

As for overheating, that is an indicator of poor air circulation. Something could be blocking a fan (case, CPU, GPU. PSU) and/or heat is unable to escape your computer for some reason.

There are other reasond for a computer to shut down too. If processor can't handle the load, it could cause a shutdown, the PSU is faulty, it could also cause a shutdown. The RAM is yet another possibility.

Remember, correlation does not imply causation.

I would suggest taking the computer to a repair shop if you are unable to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Well this motherboard ain't been the greatest to begin with, but i found out it was a Gigabyte issue (usb drivers didnt like a windows update),

I know there is no overheating, my case is open and as soon as it shutdown i felt my graphics card and it was cold, so no stress on that side of things checked for heat elsewhere didnt detect nothing.

Been thinking for awhile that the processor may be abit bottlenecked by the graphics card, but like i said it keeps up with Crysis 3 so dont see why that would be an issue,

Haven't really thought of ram, that could be something because i know stalker doesnt read above 4gb up until Call of Pripyat (Currently have 8gb)

Video Card seems to be stable enough from what i can tell up until this current issue with the Shutdown (Cause of Playing Stalker) i have looked and found it is quite common for this game to shutdown, or crash, but for some reason its done abit of extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on me lol,

i have found another case through google similar to mine aswell, but no fix as most people brought it down to hardware but it happend to him from stalker aswell,

I'm thinking maybe when it shutdown, the computer or video drivers, watever was doing something at the time n maybe the two coincided and screwed with something, lol i dunno might sound far fetched but all i really got atm, nothing Solid apart from what was happening at the time of crash.
