Steam loyalty for people who buy alot of games off steam!
I own about about 150 games JUST from steam, which is well over £1000 and I recieved no kind of loyalty or anything of the sorts! If I took my business to retailers such as GAME i can get a loyalty rewards card and if I'd have spent as much money on steam as did in game I shudder at the amount of free stuff i could have had from my rewards points. So please Valve, introduce some kind of rewards for people who support you please!

I second that opinion. I have a big selection of games as well and I too wouldnt mind a little bit of motivation to continue to spend my money in the same place. Even if its small its somthing else that could set steam apart from other game distributors. I know theres another website that gives reward-bucks for so much money spent that'd be even something.... or maybe little bonus gifts that could apply to some games that you do own, like dlc or somthing like mau5 hou5 mentioned loyalty points, maybe to spend on steam exclusive items....game keys, t-shirts, subscriptions to your favorite steam related MMO,........Perks are always nice .....thanks for your post MAU5 HOU5 :)

All this is nice but steam has such great deals all the time I wouldn't want them to have an excuse to remove them for a loyalty program.
I do see where you come from. I just found out the other day that I have a steam game value of $1,580 and soon to be more.

thats a good point too the sales are really aprieciated. But who's to say the reward even has to have acual $ value....maybe a content unlock for something thats steam exclusive....or I'm sure steam has alot of deals and connections to be able to get something in bulk as a reward for accumulated loyalty points.

yeah, it doesnt have to be money orientated! I'd LOVE a free half life t-shirt or mug or something!:P but even points to spend in there new market beta, as a different form of currency or something maybe? buy some tf2/dota cosmetic items! I hope valve does sort something out for us loyal NON-piraters!
I'm opposed to rewards schemes, and especially opposed to asking for rewards. My money shouldn't be worth more than other people's just because I've got more of it to spend on luxuries, and I've already been compensated for the money I spent on Steam - I got a whole bunch of games in return. Asking for free stuff is greed, nothing more.

Well exactly, you could have taken your business elsewhere, and you didn't. You chose to shop here. If GAME's rewards are so great, why on earth have you given Steam that ~£1000 instead of them? Surely there are reasons.

I second the emotion

I have +300 games, +$3000 USD worth of games spanning 7 years.

I dont want a loyality program that might cut down on the daily / weekend sales and seasonal speicals. BTW, I always buy my games on sale on steam. If I find a game I want, add it to wishlist and wait for steam sale. I LOVE THE STEAM WINTER SALE!!!!!!!

You have a good point there as well I would hate to see the good sales that they offer disapear thats forsure. I just got thinking into other games that I have played that offered that feature. I agreed mainly because I thought it might bring that same type of enjoyment, to set a sale system apart. Still really happy with the system they have at the moment thanks steam :)

The problem with GAME is their games typically cost more than what steam sells them for, most of the time. So for a few reward points, you are paying a extra £5.00. Now GAME are selling most newer AAA+ titles at £39.99 on the PC while steam are selling the same title for between £29.99 to £34.99 (COD is £39.99).

Is having the retail box and some reward points worth a extra £5 to £10 ? Only reason I buy games from GAME sometimes is because they on sale or in some rare cases are cheaper than steam.

But I agree with the OP that we steam should have some kind of reward system for people who spend lots of money.

Adding in a reward scheme would push up the cost of games normally anyway. We already have great sales that go on multiple times a year.

You think 150 games is impressive at £1000? Try 716, at £5496 (and that's not considering that a lot of those games are bought new, and some of them can't even be bought again.)

This isnt a boasting post like you seem to think, well done, you spent enough money on virtual games that could buy you a week in vegas. I just think that for my loyalty i should be rewarded! like everything in life.

Everybody in this post obviously didnt read my 1st comment that it doesnt have to be money orientated! some kind of reward for showing our dedication, loyalty and not following what MANY PC gamers do....pirate.

You were the one who brought it up first, no him. He isn't boasting either. He is saying that he would not have gotten so many game and spent do much if it wasn't for the sales. The same sale that would have to go away and/or change to higher prices if they add a "rewards" program.

Those programs cost companies money. Companies are in the buissness of making money. Steam has no reason to add a rewards program since they are already popular and don't need to sell you information (rewards programs make money back because of this).

I would prefer to keep the sales and not have my information sold to another company.

Our loyalty is rewared with good sales coming on a regular basis. Two times a week and another every day, plus all the other big sales they have on a regular basis. Anything more is just getting greedy.

You not asking for anyting new either. This has be asked before in the forums and told why it won't happen each time. Try searching next time.

NO, because if they give you a loyalty system like game stop or any other place that would take all those beautiful 80% drop in prices of games they already have a steam spot light a steam sale on every single holiday and sales for stuff i dont even know exsisted so if they do this they will start to lose money if someone see's something they want from the rewards then they will go and but every 99 cent game they see so they can get it so i can see how this can be obused and i can also see how people relate this beautiful valve creation to make it look like a simple game stop so i vote no on this sorry

Apart from when he said he buys pretty much all his games at full price! rendering that paragraph obsolete.

I give up on this post, people have lost the plot. IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE ANYTHNG TO DO WITH MONEY!!!!! Do you think if they sent everybody with over £1000 worth of games a cool t-shirt or something they would have to stop the "steam sales" everybody seems to be mentioning?
