Steam translator
A program built into steam that translates other languages into the languages each player uses. So for example a Russian player types a message into chat, english players will be able to see it in thier chat as english. The same if an english player types a message into chat and Russian players will see it as Russian.

That's an in-game feature that should be adressed by every publisher. Steam can't mess in other's ingame chats.

Besides, a multi language translation tool is far too much work for the benefit it represents.

I was talking about on steam, not for every game. Such as on the forums.

These translate programs are never any good. Youll get some direct word for word translation that often wont mean much in English.

A sample of that
Let's Google translate the quote to Spanish.

Result:
"Estos programas traducir nunca son buenos. Obtendrá una palabra directa para la traducción palabra que a menudo significa costumbre tanto en Inglés."

Which, properly translated into english, it's telling me:

"These programs translate are never good. You'll get a direct word for translation, word that usually means 'habit' as in English."

This also assumes people type in gramattically correct stuff into chat.

Most people type in nonsensical idiocy or short hand, or massive spelling mistakes that no translator is going to make heads or tails of.

Note WoW had functionally liek this but it consisted of macros players called so that it was consistent. It didn't actually 'translate'

Actually in wow, you could figure out the different language words and communicate in that language, for example common to orcish... ♥♥♥♥ I can't remember it's been 5 years since I played wow but umm, lok'tar ogar means enermy over there or something about the enemy and killing it.

The point of the translator is to also try to remove some of the language barrier.

I hope they will add more languages soon like Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian (I hope I am pronouncing it right) cause there are many people out there that may not understand English. I know many people in my country that hardly even know English language and thank English dictionary it is not me. I know English very well myself, but I want to translate Latvian as I am one. I just want to help these people!

Well... the translation technology is not that far yet. Wouldn't be surprised if we see some major improvements to this in the next two years.
