Steam family sharing and Free To Play.
I have a freind who I gave permision to access my library but when I play dota 2 or any other FTP game it kicks him off of any game he is playing in my library.

I dont want to go through the trouble of making another account since I have so many freinds who play dota.

FTP games should not kick others off of a shared library in my opinion.

"Can two users share a library and both play at the same time?
No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time."

Why should F2P games be an exception?

you share the library, not a single game. only one can use the library at a time.

Because the only thing preventing users from making an exeption is to get a new account to play FTP games on, and steam is the rare exeption in digital game distributing platforms that actaully wants its software to be more convinient to its users it makes so much since that they would want to make exeptions like this.

Plus FTP games are not technically in your library, if you dont have TF2 installed but have played it in the past it will not be in your library (as far as I can remember, may be wrong) but you never purchased the game or entered a key into steam so its still technically not part of your library according to some definitions. Although as far as steam is consirned it is since it stores cloud data for settings and such.

TF2 was not f2p for its first 4 years, it was changed to the f2p model ind 2011, anyone who purchased it in the past is not able to remove it from his account by himself since you cannot remove paid subscriptions.

OK if your ask for only F2P games not to lock the library, then I can only assume you agree with the Library Lock for paid games?

You're playing TF2, and think your Friend should be able to play a paid game ,say your copy of Skyrim, because TF2 is free to play. And because Valve are not asking for compensation for TF2 it should not lock the library.

However if I'm playing TombRaider and My daughter wants to Play my copy of Skyrim, she should be able to. I'm saying she should be able to play because both owners of TombRaider and Skyrim have already been compensated for the software and do not need to paid again for the same copy.

Now you are saying the F2P not locking the Library is more valid, than no games locking the library, so let me ask you.

In my scenaro, under your thinking, which company is not being compenstated? The makers of TombRaider or Skyrim?
