Accurate potrayal of Steam status on profile (and friendlist)

Whenever I look on a profile on the right hand side, or click on my Friendslist I always see either "In-game" , "Online" or "Last seen:". This is not often accurate, for example the following status are available: Busy/Away etc. I would like to see those.

I think this mapping was originally implemented to reduce queries (we use this at work too) and be a handier method for sorting (Level and nickname) but I feel we've outgrown this need. I think throughout Steam Community it's feasible to accurately portray the status, at least in certain places.

With Steam expanding more and more to the browser (Broadcast etc.) I feel this would be a handy addition.

I do agree if i got it right, that will be able to also see Busy/Away on the profile page?

Perhaps with the integration of a colour coordinated scheme.

For example:
- Red for Busy
- Yellow for Away

Considering they added the whole Following button on everyone's profile now (which used to be exclusive for Workshop content uploaders) I could imagine they'll push more effort into the whole Broadcasting -display.

Not only is the Follow button likely going to be implemented similarly to that of something on Livestream or Twitch, but the status on the profile should have mentions of the whole broadcast -feature.

Here hoping that's the case at the very least, and like you said - the other statuses would be welcome as well. :)
