lol, in the realm of digital IP, we're not customers to most companies (note I said most, not all). Instead we're generally renters for some undisclosed amount of time, and treated as bad tenents for the most part.
The customer is not always right. "Rarely" would be the more appropriate word.
Read how right all of those customers are.
I work in retail and customers are not right most of the time.
But that "Customer is always right" comes from most companies in USA because they desperately want customers to stay. Not every company follow that rule though.
After some years working retail, i prefer to use a revisioned version of Dr House's motto
"The customer always lies"
There's also another motto that stuck in my mind when dealing with business, no matter how much you may like them. It was adressed at Steam, but it can be easily applied to any company (Origin, Apple, Microsoft...).
"[company name] is a business, not your girlfriend"
Fixed!
The customer is not always right because the customer is human.
When I worked at ********** restaurant, this grouchy old woman came in one day demanding mashed potatoes. I mean she was livid, threatening to report me, etc. We did not at the time even have them on the menu. Believe me, that customer was wrong. >.>
In the past they randomly gave someone the top 10 games on their wishlist 'n stuff like that.
Also had a few 90% coupons from the last winter event, which is close enough to free.
Made a few games free2play, so everyone can join them.
And Origin has lame profiles. so there...
They also lack emotion.
Oh yeah, Steam often has free game weekends where one can play a game for free without having to pay for it.
