I list stuff on the market for silly money and it takes it out of your inventory and because of the high price no one will buy it.
I don't understand how you have run out of room? I have played 700 hours more than you and still have pages left to fill. I think I have about 9/14 full? Well, you could do several things, trade your doubles, make crates as offerings (I have like 3 pages of chests if not more), or you could use those recipe's. 4 commons for 1 uncommon exc. You shouldn't have a problem honestly, but, those are your options, they want to limit how many items are in circulation I am sure. Controlling your armory is one way to do it.
I think it would overload the item servers though if there was no cap
I have 4 pages of offerings for all my useless doubles, recipes and chests. The only things left in my armoury are singles of nearly every item (it's a collection thing), "some" doubles like genuines/couriers and keys (not that many as I store most of them on the market) . If Valve's plan is that we never own every single item added to the game that is understandable and they should come out and say it, but without knowing that I'll say adding a way to increase the inventory limit will help everyone. Right now it might just seem like it affects only a few traders and collectors but with the rate at which more items are added, everyone will have a full inventory in a year. At the moment there are roughly 2300 individual items in the game, the inventory limit is 2400, I can only hope it will be raised as they add more items.
Sorry but I'm not really here to justify why I have my items, I'm only suggesting the limit be raised by either a new item or it can be added as a bonus to leveling up your profile. If there is no plan to do so that's fine but it'll be good to tell us that the limit will stay so I can stop wasting my time collecting stuff on this game since it will never go past 2400 :(. Thank you.
You make a valid point about server overload, which is why i think making a new item for increasing it will work since not everyone will go for it especially if the pricing of this item is done right, only collectors and people interested will get it and it costs nothing to add. I'm just throwing out ideas here :D
2) The limit has already been increased and even if it wasn't that wouldn't stop you from spending money on items. Oh you filled your inventory with random crap? that's very nice, now here's this new sweet looking thing you really of want and are going to spend hot dolla on. Your problem is not inventory size but that you can't tell yourself to stop when you want to.
