Regional pricing
Hello! How do you determine regional prices in Steam for South America / Latam? Is there a way for Paraguay to have regional prices?

paraguay already has regional pricing, you are included in USD_LATAM
These countries are: Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, and Venezuela.

USD_LATAM exists since nov 11th 2023, so this is relatively new, i would not hope for your country getting its own currency supported anytime soon on Steam. new currencies are generally introduced as Valve sees fit.

here is how pricing works from the partners perspective:

Valves recommended pricing is entirely optional and there are no rules. if you wanna have the brits pay 200% more than anyone else, you can and are allowed to do that.

Steam has recommended pricing where a developer sets a price in USD or Euro and its automatically converted to various currencies and regions

Developers/Publishers have the option to use their own pricing mechanisms though.

This is Steam's standard recommended regional pricing.

Your regional price is what ever it shows in the store.
Not all countries are going to have their own price regions due to either low value of the currency or they are already part of a price region.
There are too many currencies in the world for them all to be on Steam and it would also require the devs to want to accept those currency as payment.
They also need to have sufficient global market value and be stable.

From what I recall Valve set the default suggested prices for MENA and LATM to 50% of the U.S. price. Publishers who didn't address that new region's prices are set at full U.S. prices since Valve doesn't actually make pricing decisions for publishers.

Other publishers either accepted the new regions pricing or set their own when the new region went live.

Newly published games will either default to the suggested regional prices or publishers set their own price.

If you have pricing issues with a game, take it up with the publishers. If you have issues with sale prices, take it up with the publisher.

Thanks for the prompt reply, I understand but in the link you sent me there is no Paraguay, so how can I ask for steam to add to Paraguay? Paraguay is near Argentina where it has regional prices but does not share them

The currency of Paraguay is the Guarani (G$) 1 dollar is equivalent to 7,000 guarani and the minimum wage is approximately 380 dollars a month, do you know if that would be useful to have consideration?

Thank you for this excellent answer, I will mark it as a solution, I did not know that only 4 months ago implemented this, it means that possibly in a few months will be reflected in my game (Warframe).

Warframe already has their prices updated for the new regions.

Cheaper than Valve's suggested price.
