Why doesn't Valve support the LGBTQ+ community by implementing rainbow text and rainbow background for the remainder of Pride Month?

Sure we don't "need" games, but it is a gaming platform, so the focus of Steam is Games and not politics

They don't need to provide stuff that makes things harder to read. It would also bring out all the bigots 1000 times worse then they already are on the forums. Now if they actually perma community banned them, I'd be all for it but they won't do that so, no reason to bother doing it.

The biggots already get upset and rant how there is no straight sale when Valve has a few days sale for LGBTQ+ related games. Again Valve moderation needs to perma ban people when they go on these rants.

If game developers want to provide stuff like that fine, but Valve doesn't need to do it.

Normally I would disagree, but since it's a self-flag and a voluntary request, I propose Valve go ahead and permaban the author of this rant and him alone.

"Right side of history" according to whom? Steam is international company that contracts over 100 different countries. Some of those countries could terminate said contract over something like this. Many countries that steam has a stake on it also criminalized LGBTQ. Steam has to take a neutral position on this.

You as a user can use the text boxes or modify your profile to fit your preference.

Valve doesn't have contracts with countries.

The "right side of history" doesn't actually get determined until the future, when enough time has passed to sort out all the differences and social fads. Regardless, there's much celebration and rainbow themed events going on already all over the Internet and IRL.

That is not true for 99% of the people complaining, people are getting angry over the fact that DEI is destroying games and other hobbies for the sake of diversity and inclusivity, and also how they seem to only be able to make female characters that look like men or are fat, even when it's just remarsting a character from an old game ( i'm not saying evry female cherter has to be thin ) but fans of a franchise are going to get mad, when they perceive changes to go against the fandom, and especially when they are getting attacked by the ones making the product

So it's totally okay to hold a parade on August 9th to celebrate straigth sexuality, shove your sexualtiy into the face of everyone who you cross during November and demand special lessons for straigth sexuality, manly men and wifely women in March?

I will have to disagree with that statement, as especially straight white men are getting discriminated in the modern world, at least if we look in most of the western world

One can still support something, with out going overboard and alienating other users in the process.

I can almost guarantee a pride sale of some kind, at some point, this month. Like they have had the past.

Rainbow capitalism doesn't mean a company supports civil rights more than other companies who don't make announcements about June being pride month. Look at their actions, not their announcements. Steam having online conduct rules is already infinitely more helpful to LGBT people than any pride month announcement they could make.
