Optional alternate achievement sounds

While the sound for achievements is fine, I would wish ways to permanently change it. As it stands if you change it with a custom sound, steam will undo it via update pretty frequently. Either we should have it as a steam setting that we can change with our own custom sounds or a point shop item that devs can create themselves.

Seconding this, I actually really dislike the new achievement sound. Old one was much better. Being able to define a custom sound would be great just like I already do in my smartphone with notification sounds. I've used everything from the mushroom or 1up sound from mario, ring or emerald collecting sounds from sonic, item collecting sound from pokemon, sound effects from NiGHTS, even the echolocation sound from ecco the dolphin, etcetc.
This is a small easy change that would make a lot of people happy. And even add some flair to ppl who are streaming their games.
Hell, you could even use the sound effect from playststion trophies, which is much better than Steam's.
Or even, based on what OP said, maybe games devs/publishers could sell their SFX on the store to use as achievement sound effect. I mean, they already sell icons and emojis, so why not? seems like a good idea.

I miss being able to use my own custom sounds. I don't think that is returning.
