""How old are the characters?" Don't you think you're asking too many questions?" DO WE WANT THIS STUFF ON STEAM??
The quote is from in-game loading screen tips in Muse Dash (one of many Japanese games featuring "suggestive adult content").

I am posting this in "Suggestions" and not "Discussions" because I am not interested in a discussion on the wholesomeness of kotaku culture, I am interested to see how many other Steam users DO NOT WANT this type of "adult content" featuring infantilised characters in "suggestive" poses. F**K THAT.
After that, assuming many feel the same way, I am interested to see *what Valve is going to do about it*. Profits from selling borderline legal, borderline pedo material can be stopped if enough people put on the pressure. The sexualisation of children and the culture of tolerance towards teen porn must be stopped not by trying to ban products or targetting individuals but by making it so these products find no good marketplace.

To those about to post a negative comment: I will not engage- this is all I have to say to you: Next time you hide certain "games" from your gf or other friends, think hard about where you are going with your life....

If you agree please add your comment, thanks.

If a game violates the Steamworks rules or laws in your country, report it via the report function on the store page and ignore the title and/or dev/pub.

:winterbunny2023:
Valve actually refuses to allow such content on Steam. Several games have been refused or removed due to such content.

For example:
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/valve-banning-child-exploitation-games-from-steam
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/a6w8ia/valve_now_bans_games_on_steam_for_child/
https://www.dualshockers.com/steam-censorship-child-exploitation/

So if you find such a game, then please report it on the game's store page and Valve will look into it.

Keep in mind, just because you may feel something falls under that category, does not mean Valve will also find as such. There are many shapes of woman out there, especially drawn ones. Much depends on the setting and actions of the character, not just what they look like.

If you wish to avoid seeing such content, you can always go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences/ and disable "Frequent Nudity or Sexual Content" and "Adult Only Sexual Content." These are off by default and would have had to be turned on, but you can always turn them back off.

And as long as it isn't actually illegal or such content, I don't really care as I am not interested in such content and so don't view it. Others are free to decide for themselves. I won't force my opinion or views on them.

And keep in mind that, while this is the suggestion/idea forum, it is also a discussion forum to discuss said suggestions and ideas.

If its illegal, Valve wont allow it. They won't allow for example the A18 patch for Nekopara 4 because one of the people in it looked to young. Same thing here, if the person in question looks young, does not mean they are young. Anime games tend to be like that, nothing strange tbf
A literal bear sex game won game of the year on Steam. It is way, way too late to suddenly say "No creepy fetishes allowed." and frankly hilarious that people still try.

Goes without saying they put that message in there to troll people like yourself and, guess what? They scored a jackpot.

Dunno. Try filtering these out perhaps? It's not like complaints like those will work anyway. It's a hopeless case.
By the way... Why assume somebody has gf or friends though? I never could find any use for those myself.
Report the games you think are breaking laws. Just keep in mind that things might not actually be illegal.

You can disable Adult Only content to not see such things. Well, again disable it, cause you must have enabled it at one point since it's disabled by default.

I never see such games, the filter works fine for that.

Since it's "A literal bear sex game" per your own words, care to show the in-game footage of the actual bear sex then?

You know when I read OP's post, the first thing I though of is that he had an issue with chibi-style art myself, but looking a little more into it I get how he means suggestive, not outright adult games.

Like on his own grounds, he's not speaking of adult games here, he's speaking of games that get close to the line of adult games but don't cross it. Like for example: Neptunia gets real suggestive with some of the defeat animations or even art but it never crosses the line into nudity town or adult city.

I sorta get how he meant his topic because yes there is a fine line between adult games and what is suggestive. Like if we ignore adult games, OP does have a semi-correct point that even suggestive games have not been caught.

Now I'm not on either side of the field here, as video games are fake and their worlds are also fake but I do see where he's at least coming from. If I play a novel that for example I was told was good but has suggestive image moments, I'd also be completely caught off guard especially where there is no real warning besides the Sexual Content tag which...honestly at this point is on so many games that it partially could mean that its just 3 seconds in a 150 GB game at best.

Oh, I thought BG3 won the game of the year.

What was the game that won?
DId the OP forget that the Suggestion forums are for the discussion of suggestions?
Seems so.

Personally. So long as the game passes the legal requirements I'm fine with it.
I just find it funny that people make such a big thing. Oh sure games where you murder everything with a pulse, commit every form of cruime. fine...but a game where the characters look a little young to your eyes. That's Bad.
I've played a bunch of Muse Dash and I have no idea what OP is talking about.
muse dash is neither japanese nor does it have adult content.
the developers peroperogames are from guangzhou in mainland china, where selling pornography can result in a life sentence.
valve already disallow games that include sexual content involving illustrated or 3d 'loli' (grey area).
you can make steam not show any porn at all if you so choose.
this is the suggestions/ideas forum.

Playing devil's advocate... do we even know the context behind the loading screen text? Or are we automatically assuming it's the devs being coy about a suggestive topic? Could it be nothing more than a response to those creepy players that perhaps just playing the game is more important than defining the age of the characters? Like, there is nothing going on in that game to suggest that it's trying to skate along that line between innocence and decadence.

It feels like OP wants it to be something that it's not. Regardless, that's what the report button is for. That's why Steam has an Ignore feature, and content toggles, to hide away anything that might be considered offensive to a user. Make use of the tools at your disposal. Let Valve make the final call. Understand that they may not agree with you. Move on with your life and enjoy the games YOU want to play. Let others play the games they want to play.

Nothing, their excuse will always be something like "the age of a fictional character is unknown". Do they have boobs? Checkmate, we all know only adults have boobs!:WH3_greasus_rofl:

I remember when I was still in school, there was a 13 year old black girl who was very well developed for her young age, so well developed in fact that she had D-Cups.

Now was she an adult because she had huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ milkers?

No, of course not.

Breast size is not related to age but to genetics.

Yup, that's exactly what I mean. I remember a girl like this too, around the same age. I even remember her name... xD
