Personally I don't see why a store should remove games based on personal preferences. I'm not interested in such games, but as I can filter them out there is no issue there.
Children can much easier access 18+ content via Google, no need for them to go to the Steam store, lol.
Adult games are hidden by default.
If you see adult only games, that means YOU pushed the button in the settings, to allow them to appear.
At any rate, I don't see why it's worth caring about when you can filter them out.
Go to:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences/
And uncheck as you wish.
nn the other side of that, the artwork and screenshot content descriptors and the filters now hide ao / irl and non game related ugc from being seen and its being posted even in hubs where it doesn't belong.
report it? nah to much of it already. Valve wants us to work for free? Just let it come back around and bite Valve in its backside when the place is over filled with it behind filters. if this is the kind of platform, where they want inappropriate content hidden in the dark corners such as steam art work and other ao and non ao hubs, like in street fighter 6 etc and found in users collections behind filters, so be it, its their problem, not ours.
oh they routinely check and moderate and remove... oh do they now? the post dates on the UGC, and from lon ago past reports on ugc not removed, says otherwise.
I'm seeing quite a few regulars that upload non game porn in areas, and it seems its to just upload it. motives unknown, grooming, affirmations, rates and points awards? lol nice valve, you fixed it!
It's not going to hurt Steam, but it will probably see these type of games being removed in various countries or placed behind a more secure app.
Doubt they will be removed.
Worst case, those countries will automatically have such games filtered out, such as the issue with games being filtered in Germany.
Whats your problem? Don't like it don't play it... you can turn it off and there a features for parential control.
You really are afraid childeren can acess it? They can get acces porn on the entire world wide web, movies, friends.
So also want a ban on the movie industry, and ban them of having friends and ban them from internet acces? no PC's, phones, TV's, internet for your childeren.
I am not really into Hentai stuff but if you do do, it not really mean you are addicted. If a person like to plays a FPS game, it does not mean he is addicted to murder.
Further more if grow-ups want to play adult games. Its there choice. If you don't, block it. If you are afraid for the safety of your childeren, start parenting.
Vast majority of these games don't involve interaction with a real person. I don't see a big issue.
