this shows invites sent to you, which you have the option to accept or decline.
you requesting an invite does not belong there as you do not have an invite, you want one.
You can try it, you own a group (but you will have to change the type to Restricted). Just try joining it or even I can help (by joining). But I can assure you that you won't see my join request. (as presented on my screenshot) :P
And the following situation is still a problem:
Imagine that you want to join a few not-open groups. You send your join requests. A few days later you are sure to forget about some of the groups you tried to join earlier. You can't even check the status of your join requests... maybe they were declined, or accepted... and it's even worse that you won't be able to find the groups themselves (that was my situation actually.)
because that is the wrong place to view requests for join....
you will find those on the group page...
seems you have a really hard time understanding that requests for join and invites are not the same.
