Custom Mod location for non steam games

I wanted to suggest a idea: Example theres a guy that has a non steam game and want to download mods here, can steam add a option for non steam games to add a mod location and download mods from workshop to the mod location? (sorry at some point my english became bad)

added non-Steam games to Steam are merely just shortcuts to executables. Steam does not actually know what you added there.

Other sites like moddb and nexusmods are better if you can manually install mods, for non-steam games. Often mod creators will use those sites, their own, or some other site.

i really much like downloading mods from other sites beacuse when i wanted to download a new mod but its from 2023 or 2022 i cant download it and its annoying.

bc some of downloaders are outdated or only for peoples who have bought subscription like ggntw and steamworkshop.download
