Well, ideally there'd be some way to report those people who harass others with awards.
Secondly "the" intent of the giver of the award has to be proven and it cannot be.
Deeming it harassment does not make it harassment.
A similar counterargument can be applied to any other communication alleged to be harassment. This issue is not unique to awards.
The intent is often very clear: to call people stupid.
It's rare to see a post that is really fun getting a jester, you know.
Maybe I'm getting one now, so I'll leave my thanks in advance.
The "awards" are a bit like reddit... although reddit don't have any like 🤡
And we get plenty of suggestions to have other quality of life improvements which are so often shot down with "this place isn't reddit" due to the similarities.
and yet those same people are forever defending the steam "awards", especially when yet another valid complaint about the jester "award" comes up.
my bet is they love the ability to anonymously harass others, hence all the nonsense retort and gas lighting to defend the blatant misuse/abuse.
we all know the intent is to imply the awardee is the guy from this meme

Not long ago Steam insisted in changing my profile name whenever I logged into my laptop.
