There is zero reason to add Instagram, that's just a place to be all "look at me!"
It has nothing to contribute towards steam.
I just don't think valve would be adding more socials as it is now since they can barely maintain the ones the already have added.
No thanks. Steam has its own Groups as-is.
Not everything needs to be linked to facebook products or to use facebook products
are you able to argument for why facebook, youtube, twitter and twitch should be there and why IG should not?
YouTube and Twitch makes sense in terms of linking for reviews or live gameplay to assist in showing people why something may be great, the rest should not be there and are largely a waste of time to utilize.
But instagram is rather pointless to the feature.
Afterall, if you're wanting to be a social media 'influencer', you should be using more than 1 platform especially when a site doesn't allow you to link to it in a little box.
also maybe you are not aware, but the 4 social medias i mentioned are currently implemented.
are you saying valve doesn't know what they are doing by making facebook and twitter an option?
care to tell us what your credentials are that make you an expert in the game reviewing field and usage of social medias?
link to your body of work maybe?
No one needs "credentials" to post. The fact that you think you get to censor people posting is enough proof for me that your idea comes from less than genuine intentions.
besides this was not my suggestion, but maybe you can explain why instagram is any different than the already 4 existing social medias you can add to the curators?
Not that they are particularly useful to be there, but keep in mind instagram is largely a photo site, a "look at me", "look what im eating" and otherwise is basically overall useless for this.
Goalposting due to disliking the response doesn't do you any favor as it works both ways; one could easily ask you since you want to attempt discredit feedback and criticism by demanding credentials.
A fair amount of us remember the games journalist that had a lot of issues with the cuphead tutorial. This is more common sense and application, paired with some sites being more suitable for review purposes or linking, whereas a photo site is rather unwise to implement. Even industry credentials and published articles are not be needed for this subject. Some sites are more suitable than others for certain things. Most curators are a joke anyway and just repeat the same thing over & over.
You're implying that it's needed in order to speak against your opinion, which both the desire and the demand for credentials adds no merit, but does grossly harm your position on the subject as being unable to have a logical reasonable discussion without needing to move the goalpost when hitting opposition.

and just read the description. it is intended to be used for identifying purposes, not for content-extension.
What more would IG add to Steam that FB and Twitter already accomplish?
