I hope they keep the non-removable items so we get more threads of people crying because they don't read the FAQ on those events.
Or let us market and trade them like years past.
This option will suit everyone, I think.
Haven't participated in Valves sale events for well over a year and have no intention of doing so whilst I may get untradeable, unmarketable or unconvertable to gems rubbish.
Which is why I always suggest a hide or move to a JUNK category. Could even have it work like the permanently delete game that is nothing more than an advance hide like you said.......also suggested that myself too
As Blueberry Poptart rightly points out - a definitive removal or deltion is NOT a good idea, not just because the people who bang on about that are the same people who change their mind and want stuff back next minute, but fraud happens. Imagine how a scammer would treat your account if this were a thing. Bye bye inventory.
Even better, if Valve did things correctly, they should make such untradeable time limited items merely time out and disappear from the account automatically.
As a recent example the steam event did not have previews for what you were "winning" and seems to have been a way to spam someones bad art permanently into peoples accounts.
I do not want to see these, and I do not want them cluttering the list of things used for chat.

Why I have stopped doing event stuff. Don't even bother with the discovery queue to get trading cards
Although there is one small issue that does irk me and that is the fact that all inventory stuff is bunged in one long list. SO if you want to get to a card that is at the end of the alphabet you've got to click through pages and pages of stuff (assuming you have a fair number of games).
I would love it if they could portion up stickers and other stuff accordingly like they have done in the tabs for different games on that page.
