[Privacy] Profile Settings and Blocked Users
Hey, as there's an option to change the visibility of the profile to Public, Friends Only and Private. I feel that there should be more options for the visibility for the profile, like Friends of Friends (These people who are friends with your friends on Steam are able to see your profile) and Private for Blocked Users (The profile is only private to those who are in your blocked list).

Another side with blocked users are when you've blocked them, they aren't able to see your profile at all (they should get a message that the profile cannot be found similar when you type an invaild URL). Since they are in your block list, they have no reason to visit your profile after all.

I hope these features can be added very soon as I think it would be useful. Do you think this would be a good idea?

private for blocked? what good is that when they can use an alt to see it? or just look at it without logging into steam?

block only means they cannot talk to you, it does not stop them from looking at you.

That is true.. Having alts and them logged off would be problematic which kinda broke the feature with this. :/

valve had more community visibility states in the past but the "users only" and "friends for friends" were phased out, when exactly that happened, i don't know.

shortly after the time community market was happening. 2013/4.

"Users only" made no sense, because Steam accounts are free.
"Friends of Friends" made also no sense because of the volatile friending behavior of people. it was easy to be friend of a friend.

as for OPs suggestion "Private for Blocked Users" ... Steam accounts are free, so that is no hindrance. blocking works only on account-basis, there is no viable method to block people.

A blocked user would only need to log off or look at your profile from an incognito browser tab to make the setting void.

in which you both seem to neglect that is also asking for a friends of friends, which basically just means the blocked user would have to have another account with the ability to friend, meaning being a non limited account.

so the suggestion is valid, also wuddih doesn't really know why these states were phased out, as valve rarely ever comments on why, it is fair to assume a plausible cause but that does not make it a fact.

one can only say valve, decided they were not needed or they simply were neglected as the client progressed in development.

the blocking of an account may or may not be something one would personally use but that does not mean it is not a good suggestion that blocked users, would see your account with a red label "blocked" or "private".

Friends of friends is a fair suggestion. Every other social client out there does this. It’s also handy for people who are organising matches and want their friend to add you to friends to make life easier.

We didn't neglect it was already deemed a bad privacy option since you cannot control who do others friend or not.

you say was deemed but whom deemed it to be bad, has valve told you it was a bad privacy option? because valve has unused functions and code currently present but again not used, some of it phased out some of it just never finished.
(just because these functions/code are not being used doesn't make them bad, it just means they are not being used or they have been neglected.)
