Stop allowing major publishers to bypass the Ignore function
I've added EA to ignore, and you still have the audacity to shove their garbage up on the frontpage. This is unacceptable.

More people care about their titles than you not caring about them.

They are on sale, that's why they are on the store page. Even if you ignore them.

So they're getting special treatment, because other games that are on sale and ignored do not show up. Special treatment shouldn't be allowed.

Valve promotes what sells.

you wanna argue that EA games are not profitable?

Other games will show up in the same section even if you have them ignored because that section is the general store display that is shown to everybody in the exact same form.

EA aren't getting any special treatment you are simply learning that one small chunk of the store isn't personalised for your account.

Publishers have to pay for store page front page advertising, so if EA want to do that then they can (same as any publisher).

Besides EA have been absent from Steam for nearly 9 years so naturally both EA and Valve would want to advertise they are back to everyone so people will buy their games on here again.

Steam is a store.

Like every store, physical and digital they advertise promotions, bargains, sales etc.

Whether you want EA games does not remove that others do.

that is misinformation. you can not pay for front page space on Steam.

No. They can. Otherwise EA wouldn't have shown up on the frontpage considering how poorly their games have sold on steam.

No. They don. But one must remember the return of the EA catalogue is a rather big thing. So you know, big new evenmt tends to get hilighted. Fancy that. And have theior games been selling poorly on Steam? Citation needed.

Also even if that were the truth that wouldn't change anything. Especially when you consider that many people already have quite a few of the games on origin.

Nobody cares about their titles
And yet I see Steam friends purchasing them. Seems your "nobody cares" is wrong there.

Or did you think that your opinion is the general one?

Provide concrete evidence with financial statements, please. Otherwise don't talk out of your arse.

"poorly sold"
random EA garbage:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1238860/Battlefield_4/

that crappy old dead mp game has 350 reviews in less than a week.
considering many just bought them for their collection, that were probably 5k-10k sold units to generate that amount of review traffic.

that is any indies wet dream on Steam and EA generates these numbers with their old attic garbage.

if it sells, it gets promoted - or to use Valve terminology - surfaced.

but feel free to explain to me, what a partner on Steam can do or not do. that will be fun.

Huh?

Steam works a bit differently than other stores in that we don't organize our store around paid ads. In fact, we don't sell marketing space at all. Instead, the store is personalized for each player based on what they are playing. Any curated promotional visibility is the result of proven customer interest.

BS.
Their games have been constantly on the Steam topseller charts since they came back.
They sell like hotcakes at the moment, as you also can see with the amount of reviews the games are getting.
Its ok if you dont like EA games but dont make up random crap to justify your dislike.

incredibly poor sales have shown.

Shown where?. Cite your sources. Direct from EA would be great.

People have been asking for EA to put the BF games on Steam since they took BF3 off to Origin.
Also there's lots of collectors who are missing parts of sagas in their libraries and are now filling up the empty spaces.

I can see both Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 in the top #15 sellers on sale.

Facts? In my Steam Discussions?....

Now seriously Steam has been balancing the storefront giving balanced visibility to both AAA titles and Indie ones for more than a decade. Of course in the event of a big franchise coming back to Steam (Anyone remember HALO release?) or a big release they're going to be featured in the front page, but even right now the non AAA titles outnumber the EA ones in the front page.
